Night Dance Records proudly present their first album The Plan, 20 brandnew pop + disco tracks by Danish songwriter and producer Soren Jensen. The album has been recorded in London together with producer Clive Scott and features seven different female singers. The CD furthermore comes with a free bonus CD with 10 Club Remixes by Laurent Schark + 1 Megamix by Crazy Pitcher.
SOREN JENSEN
Born in Fredericia, Denmark, 1974, Soren has always loved melodic, joyous pop and disco songs, ever since he was a baby and listened to ABBA and Boney M. at home. Moving to Copenhagen in 1993, Soren started taking singing lessons and gradually began writing songs by himself but it took a long way to get someone to record them. It wasn't until Soren met one of his idols, British producer Ian Levine, that he got the push he needed to get started on his lifelong dream - to produce his own record!
EVELYN THOMAS
We're proud to present the amazing Evelyn Thomas on this album. Once signed to the classic disco labels Casablanca and AVI back in the 70s, Evelyn of course had the massive hit in the 80s with the 7 million selling dance classic "High Energy" on Record Shack Records. Here she makes a triumphant return with her new single "Stick To The Plan" which she co-wrote with Soren Jensen as well as two other dance tracks "Infidelity" and "Missing The Target". The beautiful ballad "Why Must The Sunrise" shows Evelyn like you've never heard her before. "Stick To The Plan" is also available on single featuring Laurent Schark's Radio + Club Remix and Wayne G.'s Heaven Club Mix.
PEARLY GATES
Pearly Gates (real name: Vie Billups) is a member of The Flirtations who have been going strong since they recorded their debut single 1963. The beautiful singer embarked on a solo career in the 1970s, releasing singles on Polydor, Bronze, Funkin' Marvellous and Nightmare Records over the next decades, most notably the club hit "Action" in 1985. She released the album "The Best Of Pearly Gates" in 1995 and has recently worked on a string of albums for Ian Levine's Centre City Records, both as a solo-ist and with The Flirtations. On "The Plan", Pearly sings "One Time Too Many" (also featured on the remix CD) and "Stop For Love", she co-wrote both.
CORINE ARMSTRONG
Corine Armstrong is a young, upcoming artist with a vibrant voice, also performing under the name Nazarene. Making her recording debut on Centre City Records' "Northern Soul 2007", Soren Jensen was immediately excited by her voice, and he and Corine have recorded a total of four tracks for "The Plan": "Point Of No Return", "Stronger Than Ever", "The Challenge", and "Feet Keep On Moving", two of which were also given a French House Remix treatment by Laurent Schark.
TAHIRA JUMAH
Tahira Jumah is an experienced session and live singer and is another Centre City Records artist we had the pleasure to record. Tahira has contributed vocals on the tracks "Seasons Come Around Again", "To Be Loved By Him" and "Been There, Done That", the latter also appearing on the remix album. Furthermore Tahira re-recorded the track "Every Day's A New Day", a track co-produced by legendary producer Ian Levine, and originally submitted for the Danish pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. The remix CD features the original vocal as recorded by session singer Diana D.
PAMELA IVONNE-COLE
Pamela is another seasoned singer who has backed the likes of Angie Brown, Daniel Beddingfield, Taka Boom and many more. She has recently moved to New York to pursue a singing carrere. Pamela recorded the powerful dance track "Spider In A Cobweb" (also included in a fabulous remix by Laurent Schark) and the stunning ballad "Let Us Try Again".
DONNA WILLIAMS
Donna Williams has worked with Leee John of Imagination and has recorded three tracks with Ian Levine, including a great cover of his Miquel Brown classic "So Many Men, So Little Time" and a lovely ballad "Landed On My Feet" on the Centre City album "Northern Soul 2008". Donna did an equally wonderful vocal on the track "Thinking Of You", a melancholic disco track, as well as the Eurodance track "I Will Follow My Dream".
ERIRE
Erire Obano was introduced to Night Dance Records and Soren Jensen by Pearly Gates. Erire who has Nigerian parentage is part of The Band of Gypsies (the co-writing and production team behind Rozalla's hit anthem "Everybody's Free") and she has also had a couple of Billboard Club Chart entries on Logic records, including "Shine" and "Could This Be The Love" in the mid-90s. Erire is currently working with Stonebridge, The Kreeps, and We Deliver (aka K-Klass) on co-writing/vocal projects, but she found time to record this sweet soul-stepper "Standing On Top Of The World" and the dramatic "Come To A Decision", also featured on the remix CD.
LAURENT SCHARK - THE REMIXER
Evelyn Thomas introduced Laurent Schark to Soren Jensen and after hearing the young Frenchman's debut album "Move On" (2008), he was immediately convinced this talented, sympathetic guy was just the right person to make some slamming club mixes of the songs! Hailing from Marseilles, Laurent was voted among the 5 most influential DJs in France in 2006 and has become a much in-demand remixer for the likes of Carol Jiani and others plus he's already working on his second album.
